Early impressions of Japan

I came to Japan on 27/8/2011.

My first impression of Japan is that rather than bus, people always ride bicycle for short distance.
This is quite different from the situation in my hometown-Hong Kong. Since that Hong Kong is a small and narrow city, with an imbalanced density of population and vehicles. There is simply no space for bicycle, say nothing of the bicycle parking area. Moreover, the transportation fee in Hong Kong is very cheap compare to the fees in Japan. At much, 200yen can bring you to anywhere in Hong Kong, so people will chose a comfortable way to travel rather than exposing under the sun. But it is not enough of us going to the Hirakatashi station from Kansai Gaidai. It is too expensive to travel by bus all the time.
Because of these reasons, riding bicycle has become a special sport which needed to do in countryside in Hong Kong. So it is quite surprise for me to see riding bicycle as a daily life in Japan. I have never seen that much bicycle in my whole life!
Everyone in Japan is an expert of riding a bicycle. They can hold with only one hand and they can talk on the phone when cycling.

I am enjoying this special experience with my friend!

After I bought my bicycle, I ride my bike everyday to school, to supermarket; to the station……I find that it is not easy. Summer in Japan is too hot, the sun is too dazzled. But in order to joining the Japanese community, and sure, to save money, I will keep riding my bike and look around Japan.
